Blades of Forgiveness: Creatures part 1

Blades of forgiveness creatures

In the blades of forgiveness setting, the soulflow had spilled into Gaia. Mana rushed into the world, transforming any parts of the land. The places which touched the soulflow most contain an immense amount of mana, but many of its wildlife and animals have been transformed into chaotic versions of themselves.  Other creatures native to the soulflow have escaped and found homes in the new world. Many of these are hideous beasts with power over magic that many mortals can only dream of. I will begin posting a few of these monsters every now and again on the blog.

First, the bladeling:

The lowest rank and file of the bladelings is the knifeling. Knifelings share similar traits that all bladelings share. Their bodies are composed of broken, rusty knives and they are connected by a purplish black flesh.  Their heads are composed of two knives welded together with one glowing yellow eye. Knifelings are not very strong. They tend to gather in small groups of 5 or more. They are easy to summon like daggersplines but daggersplines tend to be more reliable. Many people only get Knifelings as a failed bladeling summoning.

Daggersplines serve as gofers for many students of magic. Bladelings can be very dangerous so many people are quick to question those who use them openly. Daggersplines can also provide extra eyes for sentry duty and because they do not eat or sleep like human guards, they can be a cheap substution in some circumstances. If you are looking for a tougher warrior creature, then you may want to consider its other kin, the Bowmen or others.
